Tax for the bears.

Anyone raise paints? I asked in the silkie forum but nobody seems to know.

These two are paints. I have photos of their feet that are mottled black and white as well. The right one's spots were lighter than the left one.

This is the one from the left which you'd expect, a paint.

The one on the right turned pure white.

So no longer a paint or just a paint in disguise? Or could this be a dominant white? They aren't quite 4 months old or I'd just breed 'em to find out.

My goodness that wind did some damage.
We've had some storms over here too

It hits us hard losing our animals 😢. My home seems so empty now. It's really strange.

I don't need to tell you to keep loving what you have Bob. Your family and other little fluffy butt's 💕
Speaking of home ~ has your home remodel finished? You had so much going on w/ your pets too. I can't imagine how empty it is w/o a pet around. A couple times when we were down to only 2 hens left we scrambled to add more. When I'm alone at home when DH does his errands i like having a living being around for company. I think even if I reach 90 or 100 yrs I'd still have a pet ~ even if only a house budgie or parrolet.

Lovely bugies ❤️
I had a lovely little boy once.

I will just have to be realistic and adapt.

There's no way I'd leave any animal that I became attached to, to just anyone and times are not exactly settled and I cannot see it becoming anymore succure.

As for my home, I cancelled my flooring until afterChristmas.
I was way too overwhelmed too deal with anything else going on here, 5 months of upset was enough.
It was all bad timing as it was the end of both of my closest little friends

How is your arm? Let's hope it heals soon.
I used caster oil a lot now to help to healing and for my hair, it's really good on my neck and shoulders

I know nothing about genetics but when I raised Persian cats we had one white kitten & 3 black & white kittens in a litter from a white momma & black dadda. The white kitten had a black spot on it's head but it disappeared ~ so white must be very dominant. I see a lot of Paint Silkies where they hardly have clear black patches at all.

We got 3 Silkie chicks from Buckaboo Farm in January. They love studying genetics & have a lot of info on their website. You may find it fun to peruse the webste or ask them questions re Paint or Splash Silkies.

Losing who we love is always hard. Having 25 chickens in 13+ yrs we had our share of losses. I'm glad we have pics to remember them.

You had 5 months of chaos & we had over a year of chaos remodeling ours. We had no kitchen for 13 months! There was a refrigerator & nothing else just a big empty room ~ no counters or cupboards, no stove, no sink, in fact one wall was missing & plywood used temporarily as a wall. It was fun chasing out a rat that thought he could stay! Any repair or remodel is a nightmare. We replaced a leaking toilet last year. Now our washer broke down & needs replacing. No fun at all but we take one day at a time.

W/ surgery a good prospect there should be no pain except for immediate hospital stay. Surprisingly there's no pain now but surgery will certainly disturb that. Castor oil is on my list but can't really use it till I no longer need the straight jacket support or the oil will soak into the support material. TY for your recommendations. My Dr was surprised I don't have any meds at my age.

Cool! I appreciate this. I'm really hoping that the one who lost its spots will be a dominant white. I'll check them out! They have gorgeous birds!
