Some grab me tooDon't know why some pictures grab me but 2nd look at this & I have to let you know!
Actually that 1st pic is NOT Whiskey, but Tuff. (What happens when I get in a hurry snagging pics)The pics with all the French terms AND the genetic break down of the colors is FANTASTIC!!!
One of the Japanese bantam breeds is actually called Black-tailed Buff. American buff orpingtons are not supposed to have black tails. The black is actually incredibly easy to breed. My buff colored girls are either from my mother in law's flock or from offspring from that flock and my birds. When she gifted me my first birds, her flock was buff orpingtons, some Easter Eggers, Colombian and Silver Laced Wyandottes, and some Barred Rocks. (This did include offspring from assorted crosses within that.) The rooster was a Buff x EE and had the black in his tail. All the EE hens at the time were black with assorted leakage. His father had to be a buff orpington roo. With all the hens being black of some sort, black tails breeds through fairly evenly (most of the offspring had black tails). The buff color came through over the silver, but not over the black. It showed as leakage there instead. I suspect breeding the black OUT of the tail is more difficult (or at least has lower odds/ greater culling in a breeding project).
Whiskey, Pippa, Maizie, and Havoc are all from that stock.

A Quick Update on Hattie
Just popping in to let everyone know that Hattie is improved today.
As you know problems sometimes gets worse when it's healingFinally. We had to force the left eye open yesterday and treat it with antibiotics. It opened on Wednesday but closed tight yesterday. Today it is wide open and she is moving about again. Of course this is limiting her movement to the complex.
Hopefully everything is on the mend Bob. Keeping a look out for more news
Aurora has file fully chastised me for allowing this to occur.
I'm going to have more trouble snagging Hattie for medicine today but that's a good thing.
& when you say so ~ do know that it is especially appreciatedSome grab me too
