We overcame a couple hrs of driving through all sorts of rain and completed our quest to obtain Silkie chicks.

Oh goodness they are so adorable. I swear I can see a difference in their little top knots already. They look just a little bit taller today.

I love seeing the babies when they have full crops they look so funny! It seems like they must be carrying around their weight in food!

Next week they will have changed even more - oh I can’t wait to see what colouring they end up with

Between Alex, Jenn, Bob and Knoturavggrl it’s no wonder I am having a hard time behaving and not getting chicks

Night all - it’s been a trying week, tomorrow I get to play with the horses and chooks but now it’s chores and bed.

I would be so tempted to hatch eggs from her and Mr P. - Splash x Splash with that comb and wattles. And the eggs would be blue still. Gosh if only I didn’t have to worry about getting a Roo

The thing that had the breeder flummoxed is that Sylvie’s underlying color is basically white. No sign of the characteristic blush on the chest or brown (I am sure there is an official name for the color) on her back. She is not just a pale version of what she is supposed to look like.
Breeder had never seen a Welbar like her and I was a tad worried he would want her back to breed from her!
