This hawk started to attack people.
One guy had nasty gashes to his head . They were afraid that the menace would start to attack children. So they managed to contain it and took it somewhere where it would be able to learn better ways.

It's not caged and apparently he's been seeking out a female.

Hawks are not my favourite I'm sad to admit.

My friend posted a video that I have added here, and the entire family are now gone due to one of these creatures. This makes me dislike them even more
@rural mouse
This was Cheryl crow. I'm so sad she's gone
Hawks attacking people does not surprise me. They have always shown no fear of me. Though maybe I'm not a frightening fellow. 🤔

So cute! You know how I love Silkies 💕 I hope they are both girls. We got our 1st Silkie chicks as day olds from a homeschool mom & one was a boy & one was a girl. When grown the cockerel was overmating the one female & we had to sadly return the male as he was also a noisy frequent crower too. We aren't zoned for roos :( If both are boys or both are girls it will be better than a boy/girl combo. Those Silkie boys are sweeties but horn*y little scoundrels😟 & one female is not enough.

Yes, I have prepared myself and the kids for this. One or both could well be Roos. I will have the SFH’s not just the silkies so there will be more girls for sure but still I will almost certainly have some tough decisions to make on which Roo(s) to keep in the future.

I could comfortably and responsibly house about 20-25 regular sized chickens here, so getting more silkies can and may be in our future. I do agree, just one of any breed isn’t ideal.
video says not available for people in my country (aka US). Unless someone know ways around that, going to need VPN to watch it..

I love this photo, it captures that lovely feeling when you walk out to your chickens and they all rush to greet you.

Polly a roo? Has it tried crowing yet?
Nelly is a photo hog...I didn't know Buckeyes were so outgoing curious...she is cute 💕
Per BY Bob I might have to wait a little longer. These Polish hide their tells really well. No crowing yet from Polly, but some of the wives tales signals are pointing Roo. Truly a waiting game :)

Nelly is so precocious and is my pick for top hen when the Delaware-turned-leghorn exists the scene!
