You've tamed Mama (as much as a game bird realistically can be)! She trusts you with her babies

DH went to the Renaissance Faire at Santa Fe Dam yesterday & I asked him & his friend to send me pics of the water birds since we've wondered about AI & migratory birds ~ since my DS & DIL work the Faire every year I was naturally concerned. Usually the Faire is teeming w/ geese, ducks, & other types of water fowl but this is all there was ~ a ghost town on the water & shoreline.

A cute Mallard pair waddled around the food court & tables looking for food scraps.

Good night all, it’s likely to be a sleepless night for me, Truly is colicky again. Just spent over an hour with her, dosed her with some Gas-X she sounds very gassy.

Between her and the elderly chooks I am drove bananas. But at least the chooks don’t weigh 1,000lbs - dangerous when they are thrashing around the stall. I finally got a head collar (halter) on her so I can get hold of her if I need to again. Gave her a good listening to with the stethoscope - heart rate is ok, gut sounds are present but very rattly/gassy, respirations are a bit fast and huffing.

I should keep some Banimine (pain meds) on hand for this I guess.

Just hope my stall cam doesn’t act up, it’s been going off line. Tomorrow I’ll swap in a different camera. In the meantime I will just have to run to the barn if I can’t see her on the aisle way camera.

All the chicks are happy too. Last night they were screaming for their mama. Tonight will be a lot better.
