If you have rocks on your property, that's what we mostly used. We have a lot of rock. Free dog deterrent. I'm not home for a few days or I'd share a picture. Hardware skirt with rocks to anchor it, would work even better.
The hardware cloth on my older coop is rusting away/no longer attached around the bottom in some areas where the skirt bends at the coop… but I guess if something digs it will still be digging on top of the skirt part… I do still believe in having the skirt but just wanted to let everyone know that it does start to rust… even though it is galvanized. So adding rocks or stepping stones would help reinforce it. My first coop is 7 years old and the add on is probably 5ish… it definitely needs maintenance…

@RoyalChick
No shame!

"Adult" utility: mailbox holder. Everyone on the hill thinks this is very cool

Hardware cloth with vinyl coating should take longer to rust than galvanized. I think it's also more expensive though.

It is what am using along with a electric on the outside of the run.

Of course my gang is barn bound when I am at work and only fully outside when I am home.

Thyme eye me because Juniper decided to jump up in my lap. He was definitely making sure I didn't let her come to any harm. 😆 View attachment 4189471

You may be able to keep it filed to prevent it from becoming any worse.

Not sure if it’s an inherited thing or not. May want to check this out if you want wee ones. Might want to let the breeder know also.
