Nancy and Oliver really gave me a scare.

More Nancy really. She got outside my back door and out the back is Olivers part. Because Nancy is so rowdy i thought she'd automatically attack Oliver. But she stood there wagging her tail. Looking at me smiling and they were just over two feet apart. No one moved

I ordered her inside through fear for Oliver, but the look on his face I should have been more concerned for Nancy
She was looking so pleased with herself bless her

As for grumpy Oliver, he's got a lovely kennel under cover when he wants it. But I would of loved him in with us.
He'll come inside the kitchen a few times a week but I can't force him to live in here. I keep a clean cat litter tray ready just incase

Sadly I really don't know if he'll ever except Nancy or her him

W/ every animal having individuality ~ putting any two together for the first time will result in different dynamics. The fact that Oliver & Nancy don't engage in tussles is encouraging. I've had a cat & dog that were never seen anywhere near each other, yet my Mom's Toulouse & my Olde Boston Bulldogge were pals together on the farm. Never know what happens w/ any two species ~ some really bond while others just tolerate each other. All interesting to watch

Oh my that is quite the drive! They are very nice to work with though. When I had the first chicks that didn’t make the shipping trip, I expected pushback when I called but I got none. They were very kind and empathetic. I got a full refund included the shipping I paid, which I did not expect to get back. When I made my drive there I found it to be very nice, friendly staff.

You are definitely not the only one driving that far. When I was there she said a couple had just left that had driven from Massachusetts to pick up their chicks.

They are precious and very much worth the drive. Mine complained a LOT to say about my driving as well, cheeky little chicks!

I will have to cancel this dentist. I've come down with a wretched cold. Nose throat and headache from hell so i haven't slept. I'll call as,soon as they are open. Walk and feed Nancy and Oliver the grump

Then I'm staying home. It started with the shivering then hot. Strange because I was in bed at the time.

Baby steps still make progress ans are frequently better when it comes to anImals. Pushing too fast can cause setbacks. And sometimes events you think are set backs are actually breakthroughs. Let them set the pace. You're doing a great job with both of them.
