Rene, my husband is a retired Master Electrician. 30 years in construction, and he had his own company in PA for over ten years before we retired and moved to SC.
It comes in handy around here. We did our own electrical wiring when we bought our property. He did our plumbing too, but we had to hire pros, of course, for the well and septic.
still saved us a lot of money.
DIY saves a lot of money...isn't it nice to be the owners of such handy men...:gig

Do you use crumbles or pellets?
I have been using crumbles since the first ducks last year, but I am wondering if pellets would be less wasteful for the chickens?
I use layer crumbles...they work great & my flock loves them. My Banty's didn't like pellets...so we haven't tried them with this flock!

Ok, I think I've contributed a whole page of responses & I feel I should now share a chicken picture in the midst of my catching up! :D

My solution is most often to just add more girls... easier than parting with a Good Rooster!
The ones I'm parting with are not good roosters...I really don't like them at all! I'm keeping the 4 I love...my husband would like to get rid of more...but he is overruled...🤣

Oh my.... BACON Seeds!
I’ve mentioned our Feral Turkeys (I’m sure, even though some people here think we are down to just one Tom, that the girls are just hiding out in someone’s yard), the rogue Bantam Chicken Flock that was hanging out with the turkeys, the Feral Goats, the random elk and booming deer population before. But now we have a new Island threat... escaped pet pigs. Meat pigs, being kept as pets, in the town area.View attachment 2412614
I laugh, but this could become a very serious problem!
