They're on my wish list. One day....one day....and more hamburgs... and Russian orloffs....a mixed flock of the 3 would be interesting, I think....How about these Appenzeller Spitzhauben

I would have loved to get a couple of them.
Cumulo has similar marks. The feather shaft is gold while the feathery parts are black. The gold around the face is leakage. Not sure on the shaft color. She's a beauty I love the specks in her feathers. Is that a name for that?
Hey y’all!
I’m still alive. A month behind on this thread and never seem to find time to catch up. I know I never posted the last update I said I would make. Short version, I lost Crystal, one of my original ISAs, to Ascites. Had drained her a few times to make her more comfortable, but she passed a huge lash egg some k ow she had reproductive infections. She was 3.5 years old. And was my “crop surgery” girl who had eaten too much coastal hay/straw in a nest box when she was about 8 months old.
I know I have more pics, but can only find her first egg one right now.

I think almost all my new girls are laying now, including the Lav Orps.

If you mean the lines it's just called shafting. I can't say that without sniggering. It's generally considered a fault if you're breeding birds to show but I really like how it looks.Cumulo has similar marks. The feather shaft is gold while the feathery parts are black. Agreed! Those colored shafts are fascinating to see as the bird moves about. I've had dark shafts in white feathers (usually in splash marked birds) which are also interesting, but the dark feathers around the light shafts I find the most intriguing. If you mean the lines it's just called shafting. When the sun catches her back and lights up the gold lines against the green-black feathers, I always think she looks like she's wearing a really smart pinstripe suit.
It's quite common with the Shetlands. That's five of my six here, and four of them have it although it doesn't show up well on the wheaten in this photo. (The one not pictured is solid black.)Agreed!
