That is very worrisome. Can you share a photo of the medicines label? These school chickens are TICKING ME OFF.
My Polish hen has started pooping blood. I noticed it today. Tomorrow I am bringing coccidiosis medicine that the vet gave me when one of my guinea hens was sick a year and a half ago.
I’m just not sure if she’ll be okay with the medicine… she’s 3 months old. I have no clue what the medicine is. It’s yellow and tastes like banana (I have experience with the taste because the guinea was a pain and it got in my mouth almost every day.)
I have no clue how to censor pictures, so bear with me.
Treat them all with corid. You can dose their water.I have a bottle of Corid, although I think it’s pretty old. The stuff is VERY different from corid.
I just don’t know if I should treat all three chicks with medicine (in which case I would use Corid), or if I should just treat Taffy, in which case I would just use the yellow banana stuff.)
I remember the vet saying not to use both at the same time…
That is a pullet.I noticed tonight that she has really grown this past week, she was in the middle of the main gang by the heater, and she looked as big as the older ladies. She's fairly solid now but still really mostly feathers, but she's growing up! She better not start crowing....
This is the rest of her life. She is going to grapevines roost every night.Yup, she is feeling better!![]()

@Pastel the Rooster the other thing too, is do you know what dosage of this mystery medicine to give? It would depend on their weight. It could be very dangerous if the dose is not right. You really need to know what the stuff is. If there is any way to find out from the vet what they gave you for the old case from their records? That is very worrisome. Can you share a photo of the medicines label?
I’ll see if I can grab a photo real quick…That is very worrisome. Can you share a photo of the medicines label?
Alright, I’ll do that. I might need to buy a new bottle, since I don’t trust the one I have. It’s a few years old and I don’t even know where it is.Treat them all with corid. You can dose their water.
I’ll look up the medicine name once I take a picture, and see what it says.@Pastel the Rooster the other thing too, is do you know what dosage of this mystery medicine to give?
