Same with me. I tried desperately to replace Canna but, no chance in that. I looked everywhere within a 300 mile radius. No EE’s :he
As I stated before. I’m satisfied with my rock garden family now anyways

Thank you. We shall see. The last time I had 3 shipped, one passed away in shipment. This is very hard on the chicks. I really hope that a Mum is waiting for them at the end.
Mama is getting close to laying again, I can have her on broody stand by, if needed.

I would never!
I was just trying to remind him he is not getting 'second best' - on the contrary he is getting some gorgeous looking birds and he was previously taken with the frost white Legbar. I think it is all very exciting!
I have wanted the Frost Legbar since last summer. They just soak to me with their skimmed Abner beautiful whiteness. I barely turned them down at that time.

Frankly I am really taken with the Polish as well. Phyllis is so amazing that I am sure the newbies will be fun as well.

Gosh so many decisions. If Phyllis is not Mom/Mum (you are doing that English spelling thing again!) I think I would start introducing them very early as part of Phyllis special alone time (ie without the bullies) where she gets treats and isn't pecked. That way she will associate the babies with 'all things good'.
I also think you can move them out very fast - it will be warm and you have a heat plate.
The question in my mind is when and how to move Phyllis into the new coop. I predict a couple of sleepless nights with you and Mrs BY Bob watching the coop cam!
Yup. Sleepless nights will be upcoming. 😆

I don’t mind sitting out here in 102f . I’m watching my chickens head towards the coop. Latest pic taken just now. B4F7D587-9FB6-4810-AD14-38846EA52413.jpeg 82EBF521-D0F7-45E2-AFAB-1180ACA52F84.jpeg

That's the trouble with the universe - not really interested in you being ready!
It will be a wonderful (and no doubt somewhat stressful) adventure.
:hugs :love
You are so correct. I'm not ready but here we go. If you haven't noticed, I jump in with both feet. 😉

I think this is often the way when acquiring chickens. I started early chasing more Campines but I have Belgians, frizzles & Japs instead. You go with what you can get. :hugs
There were Campines available and I almost did it. That Frost Legbar was almost a Golden Campine! How about that!
