PLUS: It is also easier to peel as water gets between the shell and the membrane. Particularly helpful when boiling fresh eggs.Well, like @bgmathteach said, it releases the air and then the shell doesn't crack.
So you have to prick it carefully, you want to make a hole in the shell but not in the membrane. Then you can have the water boiling like crazy as you gently place the egg in, I like to go point first, but I've been told it doesn't matter. Set the timer to 3.5 minutes (if you're me). Watch the bubbles of air escaping from the shell. Think of Dad. Time's up! Remove the egg and serve it (Eg with Vegemite soldiers).
You'll still get one crack every now and then, but not as often.
Killdeer don't perch on the ends of branches. They tend to run on the ground. I'm guessing it's something that doesn't typically migrate on this continent, but nest in the arctic.A Killdeer? Doesn't really have yellow on it but it's that's the right size, and they do swoop around.
“Killdeer”?(Bambi syndrome)
My FIL told the girls they were eating Bambi for dinner. The girls freaked out. When he tried with my boys, they said: oh good! Yum!“Killdeer”?(Bambi syndrome)
Nellie is a brown leghorn like Alex's Beethov-hen and Hen-rietta. She does have vibrant colors.Awww, Nellie looks like a more vibrant coloring of Ms. Meatbird
Handsome and looks like he's steady eyed too
They are both beautiful, but Sunshine takes the cake with her face

I sleepily opened the door to go outside today and was startled by a Hawk standing on the roof of the run. It took off just as I came outside. It seems that it was likely looking down through the glass at the littles in the big run. They were totally unaware that it was there.

The bigs knew and were hidden but the littles were chirping away like they hadn't a care in the world. Thankfully they were locked up and there was no way the hawk could reach them. It flew away as soon as I opened the door.
The littles remain locked up.
I get them at the feed store. They are hands-down the chickens’ favorite “toy”!Where do you get the rice hulls? I am amazed at how much your girls like them!
