I feel your pain. There is a military installation not far from us where the practice tank maneuvers. Many is the day I have thought a thunderstorm was coming and instead it is tank rounds exploding.

Great photos! 🥰
We live 2 -3 blocks from train tracks and a (I believe) metal recycling plant. There are days it sounds like a war is happening. The worst though is every few days when there is a great thundering boom that shakes the entire house and makes us all jump. I can only guess it is train cars running into each other or something.

Sorry Bob. I'll try not to write any more relevant to chickens posts. I do my best to keep the content to something people might want to discuss, or even have an oppsoing opinion about.
What I suggest is you visit the threads where the conversation doesn't require more than a couple of words to answer. I'm sure you know the main contenders. If not drop me a PM and I'll link you up to a few of the low content and even less intelligence threads that you could probably participate on with just a mobile phone with predictive text and spell check switched on.:p:rolleyes::lau

She's surprisingly calm! I can just see her pop her head out just as a bobby asks about the bag.
It has proven to be a bit of a success as a chicken transport method. It's easier to walk with than a pet carrier, she doesn't roll about in it either. No problem with air flow. The only feature it's missing is a way of keeping the rain out.
I'll be marketing bags similar to the prototype in a few days. Do keep an eye out on Amazon for Shadrachs chicken tote bags.:p:lau

This is one of the lessons I learned from my Bok, I brought her in for a night or 2 before putting her back out with the pullets until her vet appointment.
I also wonder if having her euthanised was the correct thing to do but I went by your rule Shad of counting the days she wasn’t eating or coming out of the coop and I felt she was suffering too much and I was heartsick for her.
I guess I’ll never know and it doesn’t do well to speculate, otherwise you end up going in circles of guilt 😕
It is a very hard decision to make. I could write pages about why I believe the three day rule is often best for the chicken even if it's hard on the keeper.
However, once a chicken is dead it's all over. You may wonder but what if, but what about all the stress and misery the sick chicken goes through while the well intentioned try to save what is usually a dead chicken walking? The dead don't know or care and the chicken lives on in our memories and that's rather lovely imo.

What I really need is a Lexi. I wonder if I could train Éowyn to patrol the yard. She would scare off hawks. 🤔
Speaking of Lexi, today I showed off her speed and agility by zooming her back and forth across the yard chasing balls and a floppy frisbee. Reason being, a large Red Shouldered Hawk was stalking the yard, perched up in a tree and calling over and over. I did not realize Red Shouldered Hawks could get that big. Whatever swooped down in the yard several weeks ago as not as big, so perhaps it was a different species.

It is not an illusion but it's more purple than blue. At a guess I would say she has cancer or imminent organ failure rather than heart problems.
When Margo had an infection, the back of her comb turned bluish/purplish. However, she had a large comb. The only other time I’ve seen that was at the very end with Ruby, who was drooling.
