I especially like Hattie's wattles slapping her face. 🤣

Now that the silkies are over 5 months old there is a interesting turn of developments happening with them and the flock dynamics. First off is with Branch. Basil has started noticing Bubba, and is starting to assert dominance over him. That is ok as he's not mean about it but twice now including this morning when Bubba showed some interest in the girls Basil has came at him hackles flared to let him know that Momma hen and Butter are off limits. Branch has intervened and stood up to him. Poor Basil just stops dead in his tracks and does not know what to do with the tiny poof ball of fury that is Branch when it comes to his siblings. To make matters worse or funnier depending how you look at it, Bubba hides behind the angry Branch and essentially acts like a 2 year old hiding behind a sibling and sticks their tongue out at the bully. Both times Basil has walked off taking Butter and Momma hen with him. The 2nd incident happened with my tiniest silkie Poppy. While I was out with the flock yesterday I gave them their treats of raisins and buns tore up. Now treat time creates a mob situation and it can be hard to make sure everyone gets their fair share especially now that the cochin girls have realized that raisins are the best thing ever. So here I am dishing out raisins to the cochins and am very happy to have them eating out of my hand when Poppy sees us. She comes charging in and ninja kicks one of the cochin girls to scatter them and proceeds to have a entire handful of raisins all to herself. To think I worried about the silkies being bullied and fitting with the larger chickens.

Maybe. It is fascinating to see Phyllis step out like that. She does not usually look to grab Sansa's attention but she has been known to wander incorrectly. Maybe if there was sound we could figure out why Sansa turned around and saw her?
It is premature I agree, but to me Phyllis didn't look like she was wandering. She likely first heard them, probably Sylvie ("Uh oh!!!).

Sansa's Molt

Sansa has been molting since before 9/7/21 as documented in this post.

Post in thread 'Fluffy Butt Acres: Stories of our flock' https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-24881422

That has he molt s over 60 days now. I am getting concerned. I have never had one last this long. Plus is seems her old feathers have fallen apart but not out. Bald patches would make more sense. Look closely at these photos.

Has anyone ever seen this before? I am getting very concerned that something is wrong.

The silkies seem to have the attitude to succeed in your big tribe. 🤣
