I'm so glad you know and glad that it wasn't from a hawk attack, but that is just terrible luck for you and Mrs @ BY Bob, that Legertha had a congenital condition.

Nice to know that Sylvie hopped down and kept Legertha company during her last time, so she was comforted and not alone.

They were right next to each other when I looked.

Thanks. I realize this now. I will always be a little sad because I lost a friend but I realize there was nothing we could have done.

So sad.

I know it doesn't ease the pain of losing her but such a relief to know it wasn't an attack or anything you or Mrs BY Bob did that caused her death. Whether you were home or not it would have happened.

I still feel bad that I wasn't there even if it was just to provide a comforting voice. She was my baby. Thankfully Sylvie was there for her.

Can I talk about my hen “BoPeeps” for a moment?.. her color is all wrong, to be a Barred Rock. She’s been picked on by the others, and bites me (until I show her personal attention) she lays healthy brown eggs. I’m not convinced that she’s a Rock though, and I wouldn’t have a clue as to the difference. What other breeds resemble Barred Rocks? ??

Poor Dakota is on her perch by herself again tonight. Arizona is on her hidden nest, somewhere outside (she wants to be a mama, I’m gonna let her.) a Cochin roo and her, would make awesome chicklets!
