Caterpillars that create these webby nests in trees, they do a lot of damage. If I see a tree with it I just cut the whole limb off and burn it.
I would have bet money they would have hobbles them down, but nope they picked it up and spat it out have it the evil eye and carefully walked away from them hahaha.

None of mine will eat them either, they treat them like they are poison and hare dare I suggest they eat them. I get one to two nests a year in my River Birch tree. Who would think that caterpillars are Poison yet snakes are a delicacy.

I think that chickens know which bugs not to eat. Arizona found a honeybee and she was interested in it, but left it alone. :idunno

Nestbox Nonsense!!

It's back!!! Your favorite silly game!!! Everyone has decided it is time to start laying eggs again. I have 3 out of 6 six laying and a fourth seems interested in joining the party! Of course with 5 potential nestboxes everyone knows how easy this will be. There is one for every hen. Which will they each choose? There is only one way to find out! Enjoy this 11 minute video. Trust me it is worth watching the mayhem ensue all the way to the end. I will not spoil it by revealing what happens.

Just remember that until today, Phyllis has been laying in the cluckle hut. Sydney laid her first egg in over a month yesterday. Here it is.

Nestbox Nonsense the video, enjoy!

You are so lucky! You don't have to wait for the sequel! It happened today as well.

I give you.........Nestbox Nonsense II, Revenge of the Polish.

And don't you dare look ahead and open this spoiler until you have watched both films.

So, who actually laid eggs today? Let's see who can guess it right.

@Ribh @MaryJanet @LozzyR @Aussie-Chookmum @micstrachan @ChicoryBlue @Shadrach
Aurora, Sydney, and Phyllis

It probably will be unless they hatch fast. I do know that if I have not laid down by 3ish, staying up all night. Alarms are set for 5:45 for school mornings. At 13 Rosie does not need me to get up with her, but she's my baby and its a habit I have yet to break getting up with her. Plus end up fixing breakfast before the bus runs for both her and Maddy most mornings.
You can nap in the afternoon. :thumbsup
