Who Knew?

Despite having chickens for years now, I had no idea they loved peanut butter. I discovered this yesterday when my little thief (Maleficent) jumped up and swiped a peanut butter cracker from my hand. This started an all out free for all of crazed hens trying to get some. When it was all said and done I was out of crackers and Hattie looked like this. It was hysterical.

The only way for their beaks to get clean was for another hen to pick everything off of them. It was so cute afterwards.

I reserve unsalted dry roasted(or raw) peanuts for treats only. My pigeons love them!

Edit added - I add a teaspoon of peanut butter for flavor when making a wet mash with chicken pellets.

Mine love yoghurt. You should see the mess!

Getting Old

I have to admit something. I messed up royally and forgot something. Of course nobody on here called me on it either. Does anybody remember this post?

Am I going senile? How could I forget that! Clearly everyone reading my posts forgot it as well, didn't you! I know I'm embarrassed. Yikes.


It's a good thing I started this thread so in another year I remember that I HAVE chickens. Lordy.
