I’m still kinda in shock, that Jaffar has rebounded from yesterday. This time yesterday, he couldn’t even walk, or keep his eyes open. And now, he’s all over the place, watching over his ladies. WOW!

No, 3. 1 in case not 100% hatch, and 2 to hatch with a hope of 50/50 m/f. So, that's my vote & my reasoning! Maybe try slightly chilling eggs first as per @BY Bob previous post to increase the odds of at least one girl?Chiquita just went onto the roost clucking like a time bomb. I know I'm swimming in broody hens at the moment and do not need another one. Please, please though let this girl go broody. 2 eggs, that is all, just 2 will be placed under her.
So, can you contact your Vet for advise regarding the crop/impaction and what you are feeling? I honestly suspect the blockage is further down. Given the timing, and that fact that she could have had a substantial load of worms, I really suspect a blockage from the worms. However, that is soley a gut reaction...not any medical knowledge. Just like @MaryJanet , it seems too much of a coincidence. On Minnie her crop is entirely different from before - it is squishy not hard. I assume though that in among all the squish there must be a plug of something stopping the whole thing up. It is based on that theory that I keep on massaging - but I am losing heart a bit because I am not able to feel that there is anything to break up. I wish I understood exactly where the crop drains into the proventriculus (sp?) - I imagine that is where the plug is, but I don't know if I can search that out with my fingers when I massage.
It is all so very worrying. I am mentally preparing myself that she won't make it through this.
Maybe he was in mourning? I'm so glad he is okay!I’m still kinda in shock, that Jaffar has rebounded from yesterday. This time yesterday, he couldn’t even walk, or keep his eyes open. And now, he’s all over the place, watching over his ladies. WOW!![]()
He was acting like he was dying yesterday. The little rascal scared me to death!Maybe he was in mourning? I'm so glad he is okay!
I hear ya!! I catch up sometimes in the middle of the night when my leg spasms bother me... Like nowMy work doesn't afford me much time for messing around on byc. Sometimes i have to cut it short.
Why?This Bermuda grass is dangerous for the chickens. Causes crop problems. View attachment 3136785
