Shocked!

If you have not seen @Ribh has lost her hen Pebbles with no warning. I am shocked, of course not as much as she was. It has however affected me this morning. I posted my epic vacation failure on her thread last night. If you have not seen it, I am home today but I should not be.

I am however, very grateful to be home. I have not been home for 2 weeks. I have been visiting the ladies by coop cams. I was not supposed to be home for another week as I have a work trip on Monday that will keep me away until Friday.

Why am I grateful the end of my vacation was ruined? I was home with the ladies when I got Ribh's news. I am out with them now reminding them that I care about them. Maleficent has already sat on my shoulder, so sweet that she remembers me. And Aurora just now came up and sat on the arm of my chair with me. I was a little worried. I want to hug them all but they are not huggy cuddle girls so I will not force my affections on them.

As to the rest of my family stuck on the barrier island. The road is still not open. Someone tried to run it last night and got stuck so that will delay opening it today. They lost power on the island for several hours this morning and are very concerned that they may not get off the island at all today.

Oh no, poor @Ribh ! :hugs Where is her thread? I tried looking for it and I couldn’t find it. I’m sorry your holiday got cut short but that your girls are all ok. And hopefully your family will be back safe soon.

Well.. it’s here.. the day I’ve been waiting on... but I got much more than I expected... I’ve been waiting on the day that I’d get three blue eggs but I certainly didn’t expect four .... perhaps one laid late yesterday and I missed it... but still that seems very quick to lay again... and here are all of my blue eggs starting to pile up :love

Well, it’s the perfect day for bathing fluffy butts! After two cold and rainy days, today is just perfect. Charlie has gone broody again so it was just a case of lifting her off the nest and into the bath. My goodness she made a fuss! She really needed it too, there was poo caked onto her feathers right up to just under her vent and it took ages of rolling and coaxing it off, which probably felt uncomfortable as well. My husband had an iron grip on her but she still managed to get her wing out and flap. She was ok with the hair dryer with the towel over her head though. Chickie was her normal cruisey self and Lucy made a bit of a fuss. She was probably thinking “I had a bath on Wednesday, why am I having another one?!” Butts most definitely clean and fluffy! :clap

A clean butt is a happy butt!
