It really doesn't take much to train them on the piano, just their favorite treats. My avatar is miss b.b queen, my music loving chicken. All my girls would play, peck on the keys, but this one would string together notes for her treats. I miss her terribly. Took the piano out after she passed, but one of my older girls found it in my storage area months later and started playing/pecking at it . Think she remembers! Of course she got treats!
I love this story!

I’ve had two hens with the implant and it worked great both times. Unfortunately, the first had already gotten EYP and eventually succumbed once it wore off. She never got back to full health, as too much damage had already been done. The second one is just now starting to get hormones back. I don’t yet know how she’ll fare.

Hi @micstrachan , did you find when your girls had their implants that they expelled egg product for a few days afterwards? There looked like there was a smaller soft shell attached to a poo on Saturday and some yolky poos today. It would make sense that I’d the hormones drop off the oviduct would clear itself out, but I’m not really sure of the mechanics.

Got home well after dark today and was a bit worried about the Princesses even though the runs are now nearly attack-proof. But nearly of course is not good enough to keep me calm. Anyway, everyone is safe and grumpy at being woken up. They are all “What’s going on? Don’t you know us girls need our beauty sleep?!” Left to right that is Elizabeth, Diana, and Maggie (she is the most talkative and likes human company and conversation). View attachment 2016535
