Knocks chicks are at an age and size now to want to roost with the adults. I've seen two of them wedged between Notch and the coop wall on a couple of nights now when I've done my night rounds.
All three has a look in the spare coop so I think they're getting the hint from the adults that it's time to move out (This is what the spare coop was built for).
I'm going to rearrange the roost bars in Tribe 3's coop to see if I can encourage them to stay.
These are the chicks. I male and two females I believe.

Hi, folks. Just popping in… I’ve missed this group & thread. I’ve been feeling really lousy, and working really hard since I work for the public school system. Today I stayed home sick, but we just announced school closures.

The flock is still doing well... hard eggs from Dorothy and Ruby keeps doing well. Lots of poopy bums all around, so I’m not sure what’s going on there.

Great to hear from you. I hope you feel better soon.

Freedom!!! (Well, sort of....)

Getting them used to a bit of extra space. I’m going to start them free-ranging with the big girls tomorrow. Any tips?

Let the Bigs out first. Let them move away and then let the littles out. Keep a sharp eye out to make sure no one gets cornered and nothing excessive occurs. They should be just fine.

Thanks Bob, I’ll do that. I think they are looking forward to getting their free-ranging back! Chickie seems ok for the moment, I have been giving her cheese, pork/tuna and rice/pasta and she is chowing down on it. She has put some weight on, I can feel it! :yesss:

That's good eating. I could use some of that! I'm so glad to hear she's doing better.
