Here too. It's been happening for a while. :(
A long while now. I had to go back to the "lace" one from you yesterday on your thread. It did not show on the app until someone else commented on it yesterday. I used their post to link back to yours. Frustrating.

Looks more like a flag pole from that angle. I never noticed how stiff and upright it was before 🤔

( and yes, I'm talking about Tsuki's tail ByBob. Get your mind out of the gutter! 😏🤣)
Hey now. I was thinking chicken tail.

Do you have pictures of her with her tail fanned out? I loved when Daisy, the greatest hen ever, had hers fanned out in what I called full shark fin. If she had her head down and her tail fanned she looked like a (great) white shark moving across the lawn.

I can't find a picture of it, but here she is on my leg with her ratty pre-molt tail out a little.

Whenever I go back through old photos I find something cool. I found a picture of Daisy from June 2016 walking in the tall grass in front of the old coop complex. She is "highstepping" it. Check out that leg lift! :gig

And that neck! :lau

I had a look through my recent photos. She doesn't seem to fan her tail much.

This is the best I could do

Your right, she doesn't. Interesting. I always thought that Daisy, the greatest hen ever, did it more when it was hot out but I can't be certain any longer. I don't have the pictures I thought I did.

This did work like I hoped it would. More Tsuki pictures! :wee :wee :wee :wee

Here is the best picture I have of Daisy fan tailing. Sadly it is a molting tail.

This is a new addition to the girls run, or should I say ‘Hen-itentiary’

Someone living in our area posted on Facebook that their three hens had been stolen. There was no question it was anything but theft, as opposed to predation, as there were big boot prints around the coop and the door had been closed and secured after the fact.

The poor lady was saying that she could only put it down to the difficulty in buying eggs at the moment. Unfortunately, the hens were all around 10 years old and no longer lay; they were purely pets and of no ‘use’ to anyone.

This was just heart breaking to read. Hence we have now put two padlocks on our run door as the thought of someone nicking our girls make me feel cold all over

So sad. Mrs BY Bob has agreed to start locking the perimeter fence again. I may do the coop as well.

Sad days. :(

It’s a very windy day today, dry and bright too. I have finally managed to let the girls out, very late in the day and with much muttering on their part.

It might be the wind putting them off, but they have all chosen to have a group nap under the table next to me. They could have chosen from plenty of other sheltered spots, but they chose next to me, this makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!

And the sun caught Echo just right to show how beautiful her feathers are

That made me warm inside too. That is the best, when they choose to hang with you.🥰
