Hi Jaffar.I have my house rooster right here with me now. Partridge Cochin roo, I named Jaffar. He's a magical wonderful rooster (I wanted to share a little air conditioning with him) And maybe some meally worms.
This has happened to my Black Star named Floppy too! I came out because the dog was making a ruckus trying to save her out of the water! Floppy has nine lives going on 10 years old.
I told him hi for you BOB. He only closed his eyes. Oh well.Hi Jaffar.![]()
He is very handsome. I forgot how good looking he was.So, if Bob doesn’t mind I will give everyone a little Barney update over here... here he is eating some soggy Honey Nut Cheerios this morning, remains of our dollar store emergency “feed” (it was literally these or fruit loops! I also gave the boys a full package of soaked plain rice crackers that day, it was the best way I could get them hydrated). On a side note, I also got two full minutes of rooster butt video while he was eating by mistake...
and for his beak progres @Aussie-Chookmum :

And his weird Spurs (his Brothers are completely normal) I kind of like how not-stabby they are with the amount of lap time he’s been having lately!

And the black stuff in the second pic is poop and grass on his back toe, please excuse it. My mornings are just so glamorous here! Yes, I took it off for him when I noticed .![]()
I believe this is now Sansa's second dip in the pool. Phyllis has 2, Aurora 1, Sydney and Hattie have never fallen in. Sydney once flew the width of the pool. It was very impressive. This has happened to my Black Star named Floppy too! I came out because the dog was making a ruckus trying to save her out of the water! What? And Phyllis didn't order poolside service?I believe this is now Sansa's second dip in the pool. Phyllis has 2, Aurora 1, Sydney and Hattie have never fallen in. Sydney once flew the width of the pool. It was very impressive.
BOB, don't be sad, I think he only wanted to rest for a while. Chasing hens is hard work, for that short legged roo. The ladies all are much taller than he is.I told him hi for you BOB. He only closed his eyes. Oh well.![]()
It's an almost impossible task Bob. Me and another guy have been struggling with it on and off for months. If it's properly secure, they can't come and go at will.Even Aurora
One of my most reliable nest box layers was checking out the pool shed nest this morning. She is in the coop now but i am wondering. Would it make sense to build them a safe nesting location outside of the coop at this point?
