I find that the chickens at least talk back, so one can have a conversation.
I talk to the cats as well but they never lower themselves to actually converse with me.
🤣🤣

You clearly have not found the right cat!! LOL Marigold, my torti, and I hold entire conversations in the kitchen. It drives Rich nuts, he can hear I'm talking but can't make out what I'm saying, so he hollers to ask what I'm saying, and I'll just say "talking to the cat!"

Here is a Clover fluffy butt pic for you featherhead. I'm sorry your missing Ben. I know i'd be beside myself if Drummie came up missing. I love my hens, but a really good roo can grab onto a piece of your heart and not let go.
thanks

I totally get that. My Pippi, who I call the best rooster that ever was, is like that. He totally has my heart. However, listening to Featherhead's lament, I realize I don't quite have that relationship with Pippi. I just love Pippi because he is so good to the girls, and THEY all love Pippi. After a string of ornery roosters, he is a breath of fresh air. Plus, he does a whole lot of my work for me, when it comes to herding the girls. He is simply amazing. And he can even keep Mad Hatter, my ornery rooster, in line.

Just went out to feed and i'm thrilled to say Clover has 2 full siblings. I knew momma hen was close to hatching, but like a dummy i forgot to mark down when i broke over and gave her the eggs. I heard her talking to herself so i thought i'd check to see if there were any pips, and instead see 2 fluffy dried black beauties staring at me. I dont know if the other 3 eggs are pipped or not as when i went to remove the egg shells the old bat came at me and got me on the side of the nose. You know, if she wasn't such a good mother, those antics of hers would make her chicken noodle soup lol.
