I had a revelation this morning, @BY Bob I'm pretty sure Goldie is Lucky's mom. Lucky has the white legs of an Orpington. Her feathering is also much fuller then any of the other birds, except for Goldie.

I had a very good side by side comparison this morning, but I didn't have my phone with me for a picture. I'm sure there is no way Goldie has any idea that Lucky is her daughter, but it is neat to see them paling around together!

That's so cool. You need to get us a photo of them together. That is very exciting.

Two Classes in Their Society

Sometimes it is so clear how there are two classes to my chicken society. It is never more spent than when I empty the pool skimmer. It Coulter all sorts of bugs and such. Only the top 4 are allowed to partake of this feast.

It's falls and there is a lot of junk falling into my pool. Not all of it gets all the way to the skimmer, a lot sinks to the bottom,. That is where the pool robot comes in. Well I emptied the pool robot today and it was loaded with leaves and other tasty morsels. I dumped it out on the patio for them. The top 4 dove right in. Only one of the bottom 2 was brave enough to make an appearance. Just listen to their conversation as they root through the gathered pool treasure.

Well Ned is in Big Trouble tonight...

His accomplice is smart enough to go back into the run at dark, poor Ned is not.

Thankfully he is smart enough to get under the roof and next to the coop door. He is reasonably safe there. The house overhangs the coop door and the basement door is just to the right.

This photo is so funny. It reminds me of a teenager getting caught while trying to sneak out of the house in the middle of the night.
