Here's a pic I took the day before yesterday. She stood still for a long time. Maybe wondering if any treats were going to go along with my phone. She watched it carefully. I love seeing those beautiful breast feathers!

Gorgeous!

I will trade you... I’ll take the rodent problem and you can have my cow infestation... I love them, but they are making mornings impossible! Just a few more days and I will be kicking them out of here!

I have to say, though, I think I have a good pasture recovery/improvement plan going. First graze the cows to knock down the greenery to a reasonable height, then run the chickens intensively for fertilizer and weed control (they love 2/3 of the worst of the weeds here) then run the cows again feeding hay, which re-seeds the pasture with desirable grasses and adds organic material to increase loam and water retention.
Sustainable farming. Smart!

Me too! It should be just in time for my sleeping coop build. 🥰

"I don't think I will finish today. I will need my daughter to update the plans so I can include them. That might take a day or so. This is really a huge undertaking. I knew it would be big but I had no idea how much work it would be. "

But no pressure or anything Bob. 😁
I'm done. Just awaiting plans. Blame my little engineer. It possible that Eve is sucking up her time. She promised this week. 🤷‍♂️

Tonight I almost got a pic of a pullet doing a high wire act attempting to roost on a hay string holding up a feeder in the trailer. They are not that “real” a birdie though and by the time I got my phone out there it was over. This is a poor substitute but...View attachment 2416442 Now I will give all you Aussies the “tomorrow” factor, but @BY Bob could you do me a favor and next time you’re in the future check the winning lotto numbers for my area? I’m pretty sure I could solve most my problems with a decent jackpot (except for maybe the in-laws)
I will see what I can do. 🤣

He seemed very calm to me. Or is that me being blindly optimistic?

I wonder what they treat their water with? I imagine that it wouldn't be very good for his skin and feathers.

On a side note, when my greyhound first saw my kids swimming in an in ground pool she became frantic, running back and forth along the edge and eventually jumping in to try and rescue them.

She sank like a stone. The kids ended up having to rescue her 🙄
I thought all dogs could swim? Doggie paddle and all.
