Oh, same here. I wouldn’t do the wrapping, personally, but wondered if it’s safe in an emergency situation. Sounds VERY stressful for the birds.

Yes, I also don’t like the idea of wrapping them up, I’d hate fit it to interfere with their breathing.

I have noticed Jaffars comb lately. He has a very pronounced comb that always stays standing straight up. So I have been making fun of him lately, calling him “ratchet head, or “gear head” .. he doesn’t seem to mind. Just as long as I hold him close to me.

Wow a fluffy butt picture and a full on hen attack in the background! See... it’s not as rare as you might think. Everyone is all uptight about the Roosters and fighting, and all that male agressive nature, meanwhile in the background we have a hen in full destroy mode, mid flight with talons extended! Sorry, but it’s just too precious!

Oh and you know what else? Ruby has a spur! Testosterone, perhaps? She squatted for me this morning, so poor girl gets a hormone implant next week. *So far* she has responded very well to them and they have extended her life for sure. I do realize one day I’ll likely have to stop and go the euthanasia route, but we are definitely not there yet.

I found this poo this morning, I think it’s Tegan’s. Is this normal? Is it intestinal lining, and don’t they shed that every so often?

I would be a bit concerned. I would certainly keep an eye on her.
I think you are right about the intestine shed, but in the picture, the poop looks very dark and wet.

Woohoo! Lucky it fell off! How sensitive are spurs? Ruby has a significant spur (for a girl) on the same foot with the broken toe. I’m not sure if I have a photo.

He doesn't seem to be in any obvious pain today. The hole has scabbed over. I've cleaned around it. Unless it starts bleeding agian or looks infected there isn't anything else I can do.
