Jaffar, AKA “ratchet head” is doing great today. No more gurgling in his throat and he’s crowing like a champion. He also slept longer than I expected last night.

Could the tube be shell membrane surrounding part of the egg contents?

I think you are probably correct about this. A week or so ago she had something hanging out her vent that she was trying to expel. I grabbed it and pulled. 8 - 10 inches later I had what looked like a long thin sausage casing. I think her egg factory is totally messed up.

So now I must ask this question. Should I have put the previous description behind a spoiler alert?

Over a year later. Not caused by reproductive issues. rather a dietary one.
