I swear my TURKEYS always plot against me BECAUSE every time I go to pick them up they aim for my hair or face and when I put them down they always make it on my arm. They are both Royal palms our Toms name is Trooper and the other one we are not sure the gender but his/her name is gobbler / gobbles.
ANYWAY exciting week for us and sad lets start with the exciting news! Our RIR hen finally started to lay!!!!!!
Now time for the sad news here in Missouri where we live we have gotten about a foot of snow and our Barred Rock hens started to molt in this freezzzzing weather but, I am giving them extra food along with EXTRA heat from out lamp.
How everyone doing with this SNOWSTORM?

It's not quite here yet. We are waiting................how much will there be?

Oh yes - especially if they are moving (which as you know they do rather slowly). But they will eat dead ones too.
Now I have a lot of dead ladybugs (also a house infestation issue) and am curious to see if the ladies like them. I realize you probably all are forming some unpleasant opinions about my living arrangements with all these bug invasions!
Trust me no unpleasant opinions here, only sympathy and understanding. Stink bugs...I HATE THEM. They have became Kentucky's official state bird. Nothing here will eat them. I've witnessed my girls twice grab one out of mid-air and the faces and reactions they have when they realize their mistake is comical. Bit of advice, DO NOT suck them up in your vacuum cleaner, even the dead ones. Your house will reek for the rest of the day. Did you know that if you collect them in a water bottle they will still be alive days after? Trick is add just a touch of dish liquid before you start collecting and shake it up to make bubbles, for some reason the bubbles kill them. Before the stink bugs moved in the past few years only had to deal with those ladybug look-a-likes moving inside during the fall. Annoying but easy to vacuum up. Now, I have both to deal with.

I have too many eggs! I read Buckeyes would lay 3-5 eggs per week. Everyone, except one, are laying almost every day! I am getting 3-5 eggs per day, usually 4 eggs. I would rather they have longer lives than be the egg machines so many people want. I am giving them away to BIL which is fine, and making egg-heavy recipes: Cream Puffs, savory and sweet. 1-2-3-4 type cakes. Challah. Egg Foo Young, Fried Rice. Hard-bolied eggs (yummy!). I should try Mayonaise next. I still can't keep up. :p
All of that sounds so yummy, quiche is also a good use of eggs! I get way more than I need too, but I have plenty of friends that are willing to take the extras off my hands! :)

So Drummie is NOT a fan of the hair dryer, at all. I brought him last night to dry him off, with the drop in temps I was not comfortable leaving his soaking wet butt out there. First time ever we had words and my sweet boy attempted to flog me. He's sulking today, but after some persistence did get him to take a raisin from me, and a quick cuddle.
Here's one of my girls getting a blow dry...she was sick and needed to be cleaned up...she seemed to enjoy it! I don't think my roosters would like it though!

I have not. She is not herself. I am concerned. I have video from yesterday that I will put up in a bit. She has become stand-off-ish and less aggressive with others. She is definitely off and it may not be because of me.

I'm concerned. 😟
Oh no, Bob. I need to catch up and see how she is doing. I hope all is well.
