I know this sounds nuts but I lost my closest friend very suddenly a few years ago. I still chat to her and share what is going on in my life. I find it comforting.
There is nothing wrong with this. I think it's healthy.

I very much hope he has had a little peaceful sleep. He's a very sweet guy doing all he has. I applaud him for his kindness and un-selfishness. People like him are very rare.
That is so very true. I do worry that in all that taking care of others he is forgetting to take care of himself. He too will need time to mourn.

What sort of alfalfa are you looking for exactly Marie? Pellets? Sprouts? Bales of hay?
I know they sell the bales at my local feed store and saddlery. Whereabouts are you? There's no location on your ID.

By the way, I've been finding the alfalfa discussion very informative. Thank you for bringing it up. :thumbsup
I was thinking the pellets, to ferment with their layers and mash. But I managed to find small bales meant for chickens. If they are long I'll trim them down and add.

On reading up as I wrote previously, the leaves are the best part for chickens. It's good that I found some for now and will order on Monday. I'm in the UK by the way. :)
