Soooo cute!I too took the babies out today, All went just fine. First I took the Browns out and let them run around the run. The older chickens did great! Then I got them to go into the coop, and I closed the door so I could go get the other 4 chicks. When I felt the one week old's had enough I took them back into the house. I sat on the coop floor and played with the browns for a bit.
After they ate a snack, I took them too back into the house.
As Soon as the got out of the box they got a drink and sacked out. Lololoo

Piscia, Naenae and Tacky were far more interested in attacking my clothes than posing for a photo
Thanks, Alex. I missed this post. Ruby is still with us (barely). And for Ruby (I wish all the best, little darling)![]()
Oh, goodness. This really chokes me up.That's so sweet of you! I am just beginning to be able to look at some pictures of her. How have you been coping?
I've been spending time with the four here, and yesterday while watching them forage I had a deja vu moment, I remembered a puzzling dream I'd had last summer, before I had even met Queenie, I had told my DH about it then even. In the dream I was standing watching them, and had the strong unsettled feeling that someone was missing. But the four Buckeyes were all there, and it didn't make any sense, and I woke up.
Thank you. I was surprised to see Ruby somewhat alert when I was about to leave (she looked like she was taking her last breaths before that), so I left some dextrose water with a dash of salt and potassium citrate. No idea if she drank any, but she was down by Millie when I got home. She never left the coop today. You are doing everything you can (and more), she will come back down with Millie when she’s ready
I’m sorry though, it’s so hard when they get to this point and I will be thinking if you both![]()
Oh, no, Alex. I hope to read Jaffar is feeling better.Update in the morning, but I just won’t let him die, I have saved so many human lives in my career lifetime, you’d think that I could save one sick rooster? I will be up (obviously) all night at least trying. Any prayers would be helpful and greatly appreciated.
Aww... I missed the deadline! LOL! I would have guessed five.Want to play a game?
The game is guess how many eggs my girls produce today!
Guesses accepted until 5pm Eastern!
- We have 7 chickens, 4 confirmed layers so far
- All aged 18 weeks
- The history has been:
- 1 egg Saturday (light brown)
- 2 eggs Sunday (green and brown)
- 3 eggs yesterday (green, brown and speckled)
True dat.Not to many mealworms they can cause fatty liver
Thanks, Kat.And ditto for me too. I am following Ruby’s story closely.and ((((hugs)))) for Ruby.
