It's funny how 2 full sisters can look so different. When creamy hatched I had another Butter baby hatch that was identical to her, right down to the clean legs, snowball white down with a tiny black spot on the back of its head. I lost that one at 3 days as I didn't realize the start of a umbilical hernia right away and that area became infected. Going through her juvenile molts she is getting more and more yellow each time. On her opposite side in her tail are 3 small gray/black spots. The big question is as she matures will she end pale yellow all over or will the back half stay white. And will more black spots appear, or grow larger in size. One thing that is consistent with both girls is that they tower over their hatch mates and are built the same. I think both will end up being larger then Butter and even my big pure Marans hen Daisy. I think what I need to do is evaluate these 2 a little longer and in the fall fire back up the incubator and set about a dozen more eggs from Butter and Drummie. By then I will have a good idea of what they will end up looking like and they should both be laying so I can see if Drummie's gene's darkened up their egg shell colors. Then the only big question that will remain is what color will most of the chicks of that particular cross produce.O he is a handsome fellow!
Creamy looks Buff Orpington on the front and White Leghon on the back!![]()

I'm really sad you lost that one baby but its really good on the success of the other two. It's funny how 2 full sisters can look so different.
