How is your tribe this morning? They must be getting ready to wake up (you are up early).

I awoke Jaffar, and brought him in for an early morning snuggle. He’s such a good rooster. I always miss him when I go anywhere. We went back to sleep for 2 hours. But my feathered buddy is now wanting his ladies. Bachelor time is over for today, I guess! I do do love this rooster!

Miss Ruby was stumbling badly this morning. She’s having trouble walking because she has swelled up so badly. I have a call in to the avian vet. She needs help of some kind… either draining plus an implant or possibly euthanasia.

She was still eating and drinking, but is having trouble getting around. She’s taken on the penguin stance, too. My poor, little valiant fighter baby.

She sure is a fighter. You've really done all you can for her. You are a good chicken mum.

Don’t get me wrong my BYC friends, but chickens aren’t a hobby for me, they are a lifestyle I choose to love, and live with!

Ruby is still with us! She got an implant, fluid drained, subcutaneous fluid and metacam (anti-inflammatory). Fingers crossed she feels better and for a bit longer!
