I’m sorry. At least there was no broken egg yolk inside her.I spoke too soon
Popped outside to refresh water bowls and observed Naenae. She was walking slow and looked uncomfortable. So I put her in the dining room infirmary. It is darker than outside and she has privacy and in the past it relaxes her so she rests passes her egg issue without naughty sisters bothering her.
Not more than 2 minutes in the infirmary, she passed a whole yolk with no shell and a soft shell egg.

I looked a little more at what she did and look....I've never seen a "mini" shell attached to a whole eggView attachment 2783105
This is interesting as observation, but I wish my little girl wasn't suffering through it.
WOOOHOOOOO!!!! Best news!!!!They Shipped!
Looks like there were no substitutions. Now it is a tracking effort and praying they all arrive safe and sound.

And no avian vet? I’m out in the country, but very close to town. You could say I’m in the outskirts of the San Francisco Bay Area. I actually go into a medium sized city fir the vet. The vet up here on the hill does not see chickens.I've called around with the sincere hope that exotic meant chicken too. No luck. My dogs' vet recommended one of their competitors, and that practice recently lost their vet that treated chickens.
I live in too urban of an area to have access to a farm animal vet.
That’s bizarre. He’ll see parrots, but not chickens? My avian vet likes working on chickens because they are “life sized animals” in her words. That is (sad, but) interesting. I really thought my current vet would...he and his wife love all animals and I've seen people bring in reptiles and parrots (pre-covid...now you wait in car until they call you to come in).
It could be now that chickens are more popular in urban and suburban areas there will be a higher demand for veterinary care needs![]()
Awful! So sad!As a follow up to vet care needs and how it relates to pandemic chicken newbies...(of which I technically fall into, but have duck experience from eons ago)

I don't approve of ppl just letting these birds loose. They aren't prepared for survival, especially if not raised with older and wizened birds.
That being said, I do find delight in feral chickens... like the Florida keys and PR and Mexico and CR.
Haha! Lozzy, when I logged on tonight, I was like “You’re killing me, people!” LOL!Argh, this thread is going to get away from me again!![]()
Oh my gosh, I absolutely love this video. I did not know turkeys make such sweet sounds! And Chicken Lady is precious!Pour chicken lady is a bit jealous and gets in between me and my turkeys. Chicken Lady is my oldest and dearest hen. She is over 8 years old and still gives me eggs. She let's me know when she needs some loves and cuddles. She doesn't want to be touched until she wants to be touched.and she talks up a storm.
