Actually I think Mrs. Goldenfingers may have spoiled the magic. She put a rug out there and they could then clearly see that it wasn't really the entrance to a wormhole leading to who knows where.

But we were waiting on the other side of that wormhole!

Wash clean of pumpkin strings, pat dry with a flour sack towel. Toss lightly with olive oil and a smidge of salt. Bake 300 F on greased or parchment paper lined baking sheet until golden brown around edges. Tips: spread out to single layer on sheet and stir every 15 mins until done. KEEP ALL SEEDS FOR SELF, SHARE NONE WITH BIRDS. commercially done pumpkin seeds are nasty. these are fantastic (and you can do the same with any winter squash)

I gotta give Jaffar a lot of credit, I told him that it was time to close up for the night, and he waddled across the yard and (persuaded) the last three hens to follow him into the coop. He’s such a good rooster! They are all in now.

Some reason, they prefer Dumor chick starter grower 20% protein over layer feed

They will almost always go for the higher protein feed when there is an option.
