What a great photo!
FBF was a bit of a bust here at the Chicken Palace. Nobody was open to showing any fluff.
Diana had a try but she really doesn’t have fluff. Minnie shared a little in passing.

See! It worksActually, our Town administrator had 4X4 blocks attached to the pedals of his truck! Herby was only 3 1/2 feet tall.
Lilly has not really laid eggs for two years, she is holding onto her crown for sure. The potential dethroning is my newbie (ie pretty ignorant) theory. (Edit: I think Bob clued me in on this.)The ones right beneath them are by position the biggest "threat." Though keeping the lower ones in place also occurs. But this begs the question has anyone seen a chicken suddenly ascend in rank by leaps rather than working their way up past others one at a time? Guessing it would occur if some in the upper echelons we're wiped out maybe. What about when a hen stops laying due to age?
I think it may be time to stop adding the amphetamine to their feed Bob.![]()
He definitely likes that approach better.I get it now. In future I will start with what a load of crap I think you are talking and then go on to agree with you.

They go in quite smoothly. But not tonight. Thanks Bob!! They're so happy and content. And growing well. Can they still fit through opening to the nest box? It must be a squeeze.
Yes that! That is a great picture. Post it in Picture Of The Week. It's such an unusual shot.![]()
It's both. But there are periods every day where Phyllis is off on her own while the others rest.I didn't know her activity level is basically higher than the others. I had assumed that being lowest she would be spending her time foraging and eating alone, not that she doesn't need as much rest. I hadn't put it together.
