She's dead. I still left it to long.:he:(
I'm so sorry to hear that, @Shadrach. :hugs :hugs

:oldI'll have none of that 'I still left it to long.' :oldHindsight is 20/20.

:rantI have had chickens amaze me with their will to live and pull through when I counted them out - and was so thankful that I hadn't ended their life for them in mercy. I have also had hens I thought would turn out okay - and they just gave up and died. The truth is, we really never know, and can only make educated guesses - which are not always correct. Plus, we are human...and you being a caring person, will give them the opportunity to live if you think there is a chance. Okay, end of rant. :rant

You helped her pass on the fourth day? I thought your "rule" is not a bad one, because how can you be absolutely sure before a certain number of days, or symptoms displayed, that she won't take a turn for the better? I guess I'm thinking one can second-guess either way, acting early or late. But nobody can know the absolute best time. How is it possible to know "Oh yes, that was just right"?

Should Have Read Ahead. It’s a little game we play on Bob’s thread. We also pay a tax of a chicken picture if we discuss topics other than chickens.
Oh!
