Unfortunately Amp is now sick and going down hill fast. She doesn't have lice or miites. She doesn't have coccidiosis, sour crop and isn't laying so safe to assume she doesn't have an egg stuck anywhere.
She doesn't have as Ascites, or at least there is no obvious abdominal swelling.
I'm going to risk a round of Flubendazole but after that there ins't much more I can do for her.:(
There are two more on the watch list, but the rest are improving daily. I've got to try and weight them all now. Most I can catch easily now but telling them apart is still an issue.
I suspect losing her friend didn't help at all :( Hopefully she is mourning but will pull through :idunno:idunno

I usually answer in a language NOT english..or Spanish, or easily recognized: (translated) hello, who is this? What do you want?

I've had responses such as:

Is there someone in the house who speaks English?

What language are you speaking?

.......um, if I am not speaking English, what makes you think I'll understand your questions in English?
My typical response is : (again translated) I don't speak that language. I don't understand you.

They usually hang up. I've occupied some of their time in ways that increase the odds of NOT hearing from that one again.

Should you do the political donations, let me know how it goes. I figured if they responded with a party, then ask if they wanted it at the federal, state, county or city level. Follow that with requesting a card number from them (turn the number in to the police if it got that far).

Do you speak other languages? (Is it you that speaks Chinese?) I’m so envious of people who are fluent in more than one language!

This seems to be a legbar issue. Three out of four now have had their tail feathers pecked at until they bled. The overcrowding doesn't help and of course, the Ex Batts learn to eat feathers in the batteries. I've cleaned and sealed this one but every few days I'm seeing something like this on one or two of them.View attachment 2900442
Uh oh. I don’t like this one bit.

Please don't bath your chickens in water and if they are infested with mites please don't use poultry dust.
Shad, will you please elaborate on the poultry dust and why it’s harmful? I have some on hand, but only used it once. Mine is not Sevin, but Permethrin based. I put it on Ruby’s back end when she was poopy, too weak to clean, and attracting flies. I did a very light dusting only on the back to discourage flies. However, I have it on hand in case we ever get lice or mites. Thank you!

I'm not panicked but I want confirmation that something untoward is not going on that I just don't understand and can't identify. I'm worried for her and since I now have access to a vet, why not put my worries to ease or find out what is happening.
Sorry, Bob. I did not mean to imply you were panicked. Perhaps it was a poor word choice. But “worry“ didn’t seem strong enough, as of course you are going to worry. :hugs
