A Bit of Good News

First, I am not reading everyone's posts, I'm sorry. Maybe on Saturday.

But I have to pass this on.

Sylvie is Alive

I misread the interaction with Lilly. I can only guess that Lilly was comforting her somehow. When Mrs BY Bob went to collect the bodies, Sylvie was gone. She was in the Cluckle Hut with Phyllis. She ran in the nest box when Mrs BY Bob collected Legertha.

Here she is asleep in the nest box. (Red Circle)

For those who are wondering, if I can find an injury on Legertha that explains what happened, I will have a necropsy done. With everything that is going on right now I need to know why.
Wonderful news re: Sylvie! Heartbreaking re: Legertha :hugs :hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs

I feel so sad about Legertha, poor Legertha!

Distraction:
Here's a picture from a couple days ago. The big run in place ready to move the little run and coop. I'm thinking of making it permanent, not sure where, and having the aviary runs move around it but this is where it will be for Winter. I've worked two days in a row, moved everything into place yesterday, it's 99% enclosed & everybody explored around it and the greenhouse frame (on one side) while I worked on it today. The chicken inspectors were on the job for sure. Popcorn was helping, carefully watching the needle-nose pliers and grabbing the zip tie from the other side as I tried to thread it through the wire.

What is it with chickens and zip ties? My chooks will find any tie that is left out in the yard. (Even fight over it) :idunno

I got lucky that night. They posed on the roost and I HAD MY PHONE WITH ME! Frequently I don't bring it along when closing the coop.

Languages are challenging simply because they're in constant flux. Add in not being immersed and the difficulty skyrockets. honestly, if you want to learn another language, go live where you're surrounded by the language. (Kids pick up language with ease: after around age 12 we lose that ability: has to do with brain development)
Still, I’ll keep plugging away at my Duolingo.

I Have No Words. 😭

I think Legertha has passed. I can't be certain which of the littles it is from just the camera. She must have injured in an attack yesterday.

Why do these things happen when I'm not home? My gosh. I just can't right now. 😩
Oh my frick, Bob, I’ve just been catching up on the last week of post and I’m in shock…
I’m so sorry 😭
