Got some pictures today. I could not get any fluffy butts! Butters and Popcorn are getting new eyebrow feathers, they sort of appear bald there but I see tiny white pins. Their faces are quite white now.
While putting up plastic and cardboard wind barriers, they all came over to forage under the chairs and around my feet, so I tried to get pictures.

More pics, it's pretty wet in spots, but under the coop is dry leaves and dry hemp. When they eat the grass down here I'll put in wood chips, chopped hemp and rice hulls. That blue thing is their dirt moveable bath pool, it's working out, I like it especially because they tend to hop/climb in with a foot on the top edge and it's soft and bendable. This summer they both bathed there and in a natural hole under the lilac bush.

They are lucky they have such a great place with all the snow that is coming.

This made me happy this morning. Dawn only just breaking but two of my four are up and about. This is Maggie (chowing down) and Dotty demonstrating her mastery of the steps.
The other two are still roosting comfortably.

Bob, is she handling the situation (being without her big sister)? It must be hard. It’s hard for me to see her by herself.

It is very hard. I had to coax her out of the big coop best box yesterday but since then she seems to be picking up her activity.

Cat: "Mom, do you see this? Tell them they're not supposed to be here!"

Storm: "Who, me? What? I just walked by and saw Cat is here, so why not me?"

Cat: "I'm moving so maybe Mom will notice me and see you back there! Go! Scram!"

Storm: "Oh, yeah? I'm not moving. She loves looking at me, always taking pictures of me. There, she's doing it now!"

Cat: "Mom! Mom! What are you doing? Stop and get that chicken outta here!"

Excellent! I needed that laugh.

That is not a good strategy on their part.

It's -33C here this morning, that's -27.4F. The poop platform was absolutely covered in Orpington feathers this morning!

I have turned on a heater bringing the temperature up to -13C/9F. I hope it is enough. Come on girls! Grow some new feathers!
