Ok. For putting these songs into our heads everyone owes tax. I expect them to be special photos as well. At least mine was a tribute and included photos.

I was trying to do something sweet as I could truly feel their affection for each other the other day and wanted to share that with you all. What do I get for my troubles, horrible songs stuck in my head. I expect your best possible tax payments, @LozzyR and @rural mouse
I will look for some suitable tax Bob.

Can I talk about my hen “BoPeeps” for a moment?.. her color is all wrong, to be a Barred Rock. She’s been picked on by the others, and bites me (until I show her personal attention) she lays healthy brown eggs. I’m not convinced that she’s a Rock though, and I wouldn’t have a clue as to the difference. What other breeds resemble Barred Rocks? ??
Dominiques have a rose comb and are smaller, but otherwise are striped. Cuckoo Marans are also striped. French cuckoo's have feathered feet. They lay dark brown eggs. Pencilled rocks are also black and white, but not striped. They look like this:

BoPeeps definitely has a straight red comb, whiter legs than the others orange legs. She has a calm wonderful temperament (when she’s not biting me) and her eggs look exactly like the others.but somehow, she’s totally different from the others.

I have a nesting box problem.
Sorry for the long video. This is Maggie repeatedly hauling Dotty out of the nesting box. This pattern repeated every 20-30 mins throughout the day.
- the box in question is not one Maggie has ever used (it is the one Dotty uses)
- Maggie never went in a nest box all day except to eject Dotty.
- Dotty didn’t lay an egg.

I am not sure what to do. I am considering adding a lidded kitty litter tray to The Chicken Palace as an alternative nest box area. Or should I just let them sort it out?
No apology necessary for this video, it was not all that long, and it was action-packed from start to finish!
Looks like a hen goes in one of the unblocked entrances and then can choose to go left or right, correct?

I could go to the hatchery where she came from, and ask if they sometimes mix in an oddball? Would be a fun quick flight for me anyways

Hi folks. My son is home for Thanksgiving and I’m busy with food prep, etc, but wanted to check in. Sunshine was feeling eggy this morning, as if she’s coming back into lay. However, there was no egg and tonight she does not feel well. I popped a calcium citrate plus D3 and will evaluate in the morning.

Here is my third (and probably final) fall flower arrangement. It’s such a frivolous expense, but I can’t help myself. They add warmth to the home and make me happy.

You have very neutral colors in the other parts of the room there. So the flowers add a nice color that you can change seasonally, whatever is in bloom. This is a beautiful arrangement! Food for the soul is not frivolous if you can afford it, imo.
