Spying on the horses chickens and mum on my barn cams has become an obsession for me!

It's a good thing I don't have goats otherwise I would get no work done here!!!!

This is my old gal Lulu - having a snooze at midnight (no I don't sleep) - let sleeping dogs lie? In my case sleeping ponies 😊

And just now caught mum doing chores, with The Former Demon Hen Henny Penny McNugget now getting along with her sisters (Curly McNugget and Fluffy McNugget) having a dust bath in the shavings in Mustang Sally's stall, and the 4 chicks all hanging out together.

Yep I am working real hard here today!!! See what u started Bob? 😁

I’m feeling guilty laying here in my bed, knowing that my chooks are out in the coop (raining profusely all night) yes, I have a few of them inside with me, including mr. Jaffar. I must seem silly to all of you, thinking about stuff like this
I could joke about being 'cooped up'.... But I won't 😁

My chickies r cooped up in the barn, they have this intense dislike of snow... And cold.... Go figure 😂

Maggie’s therapy
I am working on what I can do something about with Maggie. If she either had leg weakness caused by some deficiency (probably from not eating commercial food) or something like a stroke, then physical therapy might help.
So I rigged up a sure fire Maggie physio mechanism.
Here you see her balancing on a log and standing on tippy toe while reaching up high. I think she is doing rather well.
She will do pretty much anything for an ear of corn!
Go, Maggie, go! Great way to get her moving and balancing!

I am at a bit of a loss on Maggie and roosting.
In spite of two days of near perfect balance she is still going to bed in a nest box. Here she is demonstrating her perfect balance by going up to the upper level boxes.
Should I let her decide on her own when she is well enough to roost again? Or should I block her access to encourage her to roost? I could of course also haul her out at night and put her up there.
I am not sure what is best really.
She looks great. I’d let her decide.

So far, not enough in the mountains. However, what we've gotten keeps melting which it needs to in order to rehydrate the excessively dry ground. As long as it keeps coming, we should be ok for next year. Predictions aren't good though.
Remind me where you are again, @rural mouse? I’m in California (San Francisco Bay area… Santa Cruz Mountains), and we’re in the worst drought in California history. But we’ve had a really good start to the rainy season this year and I’m hopeful we’ll pull out of it. Fingers crossed!
