It is 14F (-10C) and everyone is sheltering inside. But the sun just peeked through the trees and so Maggie rushes out to greet it. My little sun-worshipper is not going to let some crazy cold temperature get in her way.

My California property is still for sale! Just saying :D

It was -28C this morning...

I cannot stress enough how much I hate winter 😁

It was -2C in the hen house when I let everyone out this morning, and -10c in the main part of the barn... Brrrrr I brought the horses back in around 11 to keep the barn a bit warm....

Meanwhile my now 13 week old chickies are hanging out by the cozy panel heater!

My silkies eggs look like that too.
One of the cochins is laying a smaller egg every couple days which is why it threw me last week thinking it was possibly Poppy's. She is still sitting and lying to me daily about laying that first egg. And yes, I did torture myself and the horses for a hour the other day playing her song on repeat while I cleaned stalls and she napped in her nest.

Streamers, huge waddles and combs (i mean about a 1/2 inch waddle and giant comb, picture is younger version so not to noticeable.) woke up this morning to all the chickens cowered in a corner hiding and this little one making what sounds like a hawk party horn mixture of a crow standing real tall. Yikes

He's adorable and don't you love the sound they make. Branch started off sounding like a kazoo when he first crowed. 3 months later, he still sounds like a kazoo only its just slightly louder.
