I'm happy yours is sweet. Mine, she is a troublemaker but nice to me. Unless a egg is involved, do not reach under her, she will bite you. She is also starting to act suspicious, she walked around angrily yesterday like a puffed up turkey. I think I saw evidence of where she has been plucking out feathers as well. I will have to grab her today to be sure, but I soon may have a broody on my hands. If so I will break her, not quite time yet to be setting big girl, lets revisit this idea around the middle of March.

Tell that to my girls, re: mid April.

I just want to say thank you again to everyone, for all the support, understanding, and kindness… I’m kicking myself (just a little) for not coming back on sooner. I felt bad about how things were going, embarrassed and upset about the house situation. After my Dad even loaned me the cash for the guys that didn’t even show up, I literally avoided calling him for over four months. My Chicken friends here all sort of fell into that same avoidance cycle. If I don’t log on I don’t need to let anyone know how bad things are. It literally took a slightly disreputable tow truck driver calling me out on my trucks condition to kick me in the backside and get me doing things again.

True. I just don’t know how realistic it is. I’m having trouble finding a good photo that shows size perspective, but here is DH putting the roof shingles on years ago. Note how the top of the ladder is well below the lower roof line. Anyway, he confirmed two things tonight. It’s pretty impossible to take apart to move and it wouldn’t fit in any path to get it where it needs to go.

The shed search is on.

That is a very large coop. I can see why moving it is impractical.

These next two shots are out of focus (photographing Dotty is difficult if you don’t want to lose your fingers) but they show what a mess she is still in. This is on the day she got sopping wet and of course then it was below freezing at night. She is definitely eating - you can see her crop bulge - and I could see some new feathers coming in.

And here is Dorothy for Bob. The coop and run are in the background. The lounge chairs are good for size reference, as is the little, red, prefab coop inside the run.

It's snowing again...giving atm a light powdery dusting over a slick layer of ice (from the small amount of snow that melted into pathways yesterday...then froze) I almost went on my kiester this morning with am chicken chores!

Been there - oh Monday tip: do not wear Crocs on snowy ground - the arms where pinwheeling then the splits

Another tip - wood shavings are awesome on ice, they embed themselves and give a nice walking surface, and in spring a leaf blower gets rid of it. Love your mug shots
