Look at that little tongue sticking out!
I’ve had more girls sleep in the nest boxes than I’ve had roost.I think that’s perfectly fine, if that’s what she wants. I understand you being concerned, but I honestly think she’s probably fine.
Love me a Cornish Rex!Youngest requests a photo of Eowyn stretched out with a tape measure for scale please.

Yes I would imagine so. But as @BY Bob pointed out it's not always 100 percent hahahaPapa was a Newfie and a sailor, and it was a
Common phrase in the British Royal Navy when he served in WWII.
I think it’s perhaps a British thing, that has persisted in the costal and seafaring areas… I likewise have never heard “Shepard’s” but it could be a localized thing that moved inland and evolved from the nautical one?
I agree with @micstrachan sometimes my gals like to shake things up and sleep in a nest box. And of course then there is Dixie Chixie that young cockerel who likes to sleep in the nestbox above the cozy hen heater panel I have in place for my silkie broody bunch... He stretches out with his head hanging over the edge chillaxing.... Hahaha I think he finds it cold he is half silkie and has the silkie type feathers.Sigh. Maggie went to bed in her nest-box again. She didn’t seem poorly. On the contrary she was very active today. I think she just likes to be alone sometimes. She had always had the habit of going for solitary walkabouts (with me following attentively), so maybe she just wants alone time. It is strange. She was very sociable with the others all day.
