Lilly Update

The vet called today and while she had the labs back she did not want to tell me anything until she had consulted with specialists about what they are telling us.

I find this a little terrifying. I'm not certain I will sleep tonight.

Meanwhile Lilly had a great day today.

She sunbathed TWICE today and was really enjoying it!

She was active the rest of the time. Scratching a lot and she roosted on the high roost again today.

She had a great day!
She’s looking bright, Bob, and has been more active from what you’ve shared. I hope you got some sleep 🙂 but I understand if you didn’t 😕 hoping for manageable news for Lilly and yourself🤞🏻

I agree that it is. Reason and fear are both living in my brain right now. I wobble back and forth. I'm not certain how I push it solely to the reason side.

Try not to borrow trouble. Chooks will bring enough on their own sooner or later. :hugs

It's hard not to catastrophise but worrying will do neither you nor Lilly any good. As micstrachan said it may not be that bad. The vet, not being an avian specialist, may just want help in translating the data.
Either way, you and Lilly have had a couple of great days. :hugs

Edit: Having said that I can see why you would worry under the circumstances. I didn't mean to invalidate your feelings.

I keep starting posts, not finishing, and then they pop up later when I reply to something else.🤣

I was going to say, Bob, I’m so glad you discovered the rot before the roof fell in from the weight of snow or something!
I am still going to have to watch for a heavy snow (heaven forbid, I hope we are done with snow) but at least this should not leak when it rains a lot. Which it is supposed to do today. We are going to be testing it quickly!

Thanks. Mrs BY Bob is way more pragmatic about these things. She slept well last night. I think that is the nurses training. She is able to compartmentalize and worry about things when they need worrying about and not beforehand. I need to develop that skill. It's not one of mine.

Branch is one lucky little rooster. Lucky that I love the idiot, and lucky that I was outside yesterday afternoon. It was almost 70 yesterday, so we spent the whole day outside. Cleaning up the yard, working on the hay pile and other things that get neglected when it is freezing outside. My brother also decided it was the perfect day to do maintenance on his motorcycle to get it ready for riding season. One of the things he did was a oil change. After he was done he set the container of old oil with his other garbage to take care of when he got done with a 15 minute ride to make sure everything was running smoothly. What does my little idiot do, he runs up and attacks the bucket and knocks it over spilling the old oil all over himself. I now have to catch him, which for the first time in his life he did not want me to do and bring him in for a emergency bath with dawn dishwashing liquid. It took 30 minutes to get the oil and the scent of it off of him. I found out he loves baths, and then really loved the blow dryer I had to use to dry him off. If I had not been out to witness this by the time I found him, just the scent of the oil could have made him sick. I hope chickens have 9 lives like cats, because he's already with yesterdays stupidity used up 2 of them. The first being when he tried to drown himself at 5 weeks old.

There was a staring contest at my door yesterday. To view this correctly you need to hit play on the video first and then open the spoiler.
