Come July, Ned will be 2. He's all grown up and has a lot of responsibility.
That seems so impossible, since I just saw him as a wee little one within the past month!!! :lau

This 'catching up' time warp thing sometimes throws you for a loop. I can't believe that he is closing in on two!!!!

Does he have any offspring yet? I am so amazed at how he has grown up...and it was nice that he not only had a great mom in Sydney, but that, as he approached 'teenage-dom', he had a really good dad, too, to teach him how to be a good Roo!!

I’m very tired of chasing chickens now. The power company is doing an upgrade to the power lines on property. (Didn’t know that the tree trimmers were coming today) I just don’t want my chickens to leave the gate, and end up on the highway! View attachment 3025094
See that's what I mean, herding cats! Seems tonight everyone was mad to get outside and I had to resort to The Stick to get them in. Even the lure of mealworms wasn't enough to drag them in! And @BY Bob they wouldn't even listen when I told them Get Home, and Go to Bed

Look at it this way alex, good exercise for your lung capacity!!!

Did they get everything done ok and safety?

It appears that the sealant I used for the bums on the coop has failed as well. 4 of the 6 are washing away in this instance. I will have to repaint them.
What did you use for a sealant?

I've only ever used spar-eurethane (clear) for stuff like that, but I don't know what type of paint you used, if you could use clear eurathne over it or not. It would give a slight yellowish cast, but not much. The only other thing I know of that you can use is epoxy (like for bar tops or floors)...they probably would have the same issue (almost clear, but not quite.) :(

Interesting that the first 2 look great! Did you use something different on them? Or did you use more coats of the sealant on the first 2? Odd that they still look great versus the other 4.....🤔

I thought u didn't have a rooster?
In 2020 Sydney hatched fertile eggs from my friends flock @CrazyChookChookLady

Ned was one of those chicks. CCCL took the chickens back as I had no room to expand further. There was no Cluckle Hut at the time. Ned left when he was a couple of months old to join CCCLs tribe. He then grew up with his Dad Stanley. Stanley taught him how to be the excellent rooster he is today. Stanley died suddenly and Ned had responsibility for Stanley's tribe.

Sydney with the 3 chicks she hatched. Ned is the black one with a dot on his head. He was all rooster from day one.

Oh, no, Stanley died..:hit:hit He is (was) such a big, strong, but gentle& handsome Roo. I'm glad Ned was there to take over, and had learned from Stanley.

Clearly I have more catching up to do. :(

My husband is seriously gluten intolerant, started about 10 years ago. I have done gluten free diets on and off since childhood in an attempt to minimize my autoimmune issues. Once we couldn't have it in the house anymore it was best for me to be gluten free too.
Gluten free and I would starve ! I live on bread BUT not store bought. I make my own 🤗

Never could do dairy all my life, and dont miss it, to me cheese looks like puss hahaha - I know sorry 😏 but do not like cheese.

Now I am old also can't tolerate high fiber like bran... Diverticulosis... Oh the joys of getting old!

Ok tax:
My wonderful bread 🤗

Update: chickens are all safely in the coop. (Sadly, I have to leave them locked up tomorrow.) for I will be out of town. :( Trust me, they hate not being able to free range, and usually spill their food and tear the coop and run up. (Every time):hit
Safety first 💖
