That right. We have another lone chick at the moment. While taking pics, the rest of Jess's yearmates came up curious. A couple much more so than she liked, but no attack at the moment. She did puff up, but not to the degree or Rebecca's evil witch mama. Learning curve for all of them.
Oh my gosh, look how cute! 🥰

Also known as beige. 😒
Ok, I think you need to just send me Aurora and her pink/brown/beige eggs. She will fit right in here.

Housing and Bird Move Update

Hi, friends. Thanks for your inquiries about the move and for all your input regarding chicken housing at the new place. I have an update. We will not be moving after all.

Drumroll, please…

We bought the house we’ve been renting the past 12 1/2 years! We are beyond excited. Just got confirmation that we officially closed and recorded with the county about an hour ago. We don’t have to move. My feathered babies don’t have to move. My human babies will always be able to come home to their childhood home. I feel truly blessed!

I currently have 34 chickens. 14 designated for egg laying and 24 silkies. I plan on hatching silkie chicks and then selling them. I first got hooked on chickens around two years ago, started with two chickens, and look where I am now!😂 Actually, 36 chickens, two chicks hatched out from a broody momma this past week. Their daddy is a grey silkie and I believe their mother is a black sex link. I'll include pictures!
Welcome and beautiful flock! Or as many people on this and a couple other threads like to say, “tribe.”

Momma hen brought out her baby this morning. Now that I have saw it in daylight, I've somehow ended up with a chocolate chick. I thought I set her with Daisy eggs, but I obviously did not. Squirrel and Blueberry sometimes lay super dark eggs that can be confused with a marans if your not careful. I kept myself at a safe distance on the porch steps while I took these photos. When you have a evil hen, a zoom lens is your best friend.
This picture right here, while it is not perfect, it earned her it's name meet Karen!

Welcome, Karen! Are you sure that’s a girl with those beefy legs? She’s gorgeous!
