Sorry to hear you have to let one go. I'm in that position now, as well, and it isn't easy. However, if he goes to a good home, both he and your Hens will thank you! I keep reminding my self of this as I prepare to say good-by to my adorable little roo tomorrow. HE will be much happier with his own little harem, and they will, ultimately, be happier having a protective Roo!

He is a very stunning boy, by the way!:love
Chicken Math does actually include subtraction despite usual appearances.

Today I feel like crap, of course I haven't taken my pain meds and now regretting it as it takes twice as likely ng for the to take effect of not taken regularly...

And it's windy as heck and chilly. I sat on the lawn chair in the sun watching the gals and next thing fell asleep. Awoke with my back screaming pain and the hens laying down around me also snoozing 😁. I didn't want too move and disturb them, but I had to, I was too sore to sit. I had to move around.

It was too funny - they lifted their heads, looked at me then went back to snoozing hahaha.
Please try arnica. The pellets and oil is really helping here :hugs

Everyone here seems to be going broody, my barn swallows have been sitting on eggs for a few days now.

They build their nests on the power cable, which makes a handy place for babies to hang out and roost on...

And poop on your head hahaha

That's so beautiful, having wildlife protected and free 😍
...carrying lice and avian flu to my chickens 😆

Crapping on my head when I am doing chores or saddling horses...

Making me freak out when babies fall out of the nest and die....

If it wasn't for the fact they are a threatened species I would not let them in the barn!

As it is they are banned from the hay loft, I don't want them soiling the hay up there, and holy cow can they make a lot of poop for little birds!!!
