I don't take any of this personally. Ask I ask is that everyone recognize not all "expensive" car owners are jerks. Frankly, some of the most dangerous driving I see is from motorcyclists. However I freely acknowledge it is not the majority of them. I have very nearly been killed too many times to count by dangerously driven tractor trailers. Of everything on the road they have put my life in the most peril. But most tractor trailer drivers seem to be good drivers.
I drive a lot and long distance. I treasure my car and do everything I can to keep it and me safe. I believe I am curtious and some one whom others should not fear on the road. But of course that is only me and who knows maybe my personal perception is warped.

If we were all as conscientious and courteous as YOU, not only would the roads be MUCH safer, but the World would, in general.be a much happier, nicer place.
The study only looked at passenger cars. I agree with you in general: there are really only a few in each category of vehicles that have dangerous drivers, but those few are ones we remember because they scare the bejeebies out of us, & we have to react to stay safe. While in that study the majority of miscreants were expensive car drivers, it was a low overall percentage of bad behavior to total vehicles. And, yes, I ride a motorcycle, but 'we' do have a very bad rap because of the behavior of a few...just like any other vehicle class. And tractor trailer trucks......a small mistake with that is a huge problem.. They drive too many hours (skirting laws), drive vehicles they aren't familiar with or don't have enough experience with, and some drive it like a car...which you CAN'T.
Long and short take-away: generally, a few bad apples give everyone a 'bad name', but my opinion of the amount of bad behavior in vehicles is increasing. Whether it is just that there is more traffic, so more incidents, but overall % is roughly the same, OR, with more traffic, you have fewer options to correct for bad behavior so more incidents seem worse...who knows. I just know that, particularly when riding my motorcycle, I NEVER trust that the person will turn with their directional, will stop when they have a stop sign or red light...etc. One mistake on their part means " bye, bye, Barb", so I never take for granted that they will obey the rules. Not since I was almost hit by someone who ran a red light. I swerved, ended up going down, but made it out of the path of the offending vehicle. The car never stopped nor slowed down to be sure I was okay, nothing. I love riding, but hate other vehicles when I am, LOL.
